
Meet the Doctor
Dr. Panhavut Chim was born and raised in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, where oral health was not a primary priority. No one in her family had a background in dentistry or medicine, yet her journey has led her to a place where she is able to fulfill her dream of changing people's lives in ways she never imagined. Her path to dentistry was far from conventional, giving her the opportunity to see her patients through a unique perspective.She earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration in Cambodia and worked in the business field before moving to the United States, where she earned her nursing degree in Minnesota. She worked as a registered nurse (RN) in various nursing homes and later at the University of Minnesota Medical Center for several years before pursuing a career in dentistry.Dr. Chim earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Midwestern University inDowners Grove, Illinois, and was nominated for the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society in 2017. She has been practicing dentistry in private practice ever since. Driven by a commitment to continuous growth and excellence in patient care, she completed the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID) MaxiCourse and earned the Associate Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AFAAID) credential. She was also inducted into the AAID. Her pursuit of continuing education did not stop there; she also completed orthodontic certification through Progressive Orthodontics and has been providing orthodontic treatment to patients with a wide range of orthodontic needs.Dr. Chim is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Chicago DentalSociety, the Illinois State Dental Society, and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.Dr. Chim believes in treating patients as a whole rather than focusing solely on individualteeth. Her patient-centered philosophy is rooted in the belief that behind every patient is a family and a community that want to see them healthy and smiling.
